WMD (a name that plays with the two acronyms for Weapons of Mass Destruction and William Mathewson Devices) has been at the vanguard of the stompbox / Eurorack cross-pollination phenomenon, although in recent years they’ve been mostly focusing on the modular synth side of things.
In the late aughts, they released a seminal pedal called the Geiger Counter, some sort of signal destroyer driven by a mini-computer gone mad, which anticipated the trend of what are now commonly referred to as “glitch pedals.”
William has been working on a “Pro” version of the Geiger Counter since 2011, and it looks like 2018 is the year it will finally see the light.
One surp[rising element is the color – we believe this is the first version of this pedal that doesn’t sport a bright yellow case!
Here’s the demo of it shot directly at our booth at NAMM 2018 – discover more new devices in our comprehensive, interactive page of new pedals announced at NAMM 2018.
