Eventide just released a stompbox version of their popular reverb plugin – the Blackhole!
The pedal is presented as an ambient device and features six knobs, all offering an alternate function.
Gravity is the most original control here, affecting the direction of the decay (forward or inversed), and replacing in an interesting way the “size” function. That knob’s alt function allows you to dial in some PreDelay, which is a useful function for staccato parts.
The Feedback knob makes the reverb longer, just like a decay function, and its alt function Q adds resonance to a frequency controlled through the following Lo and Hi knobs.
Size of the reverb can be controlled through the bottom left knob, which also controls the Depth of the optional modulation (its Rate is controlled through the alt function of the Lo knob).
A Freeze footswitch create the classic momentary effect.
