Dawner Prince Pulse

We had insider news of an upcoming Dawner Prince pedal release in collaboration with David Gilmour for over a year and we assumed it was going to be some kind of super high-end uni-vibe or Binson Echorec emulation. Well, we are excited to share the news that it’s neither of those.

Named Pulse, the new pedals is a “[stereo] open cabinet revolving speaker emulator, inspired by Pink Floyd’s legendary rotary speaker Doppola and Maestro® Rover RO-1.

Among the features:

  • stereo outputs for realistic three-dimensional sound image,
  • external input for expression pedal or remote speed switch,
  • separate controls for slow and fast rotation speed
  • onboard mix control that mixes wet and dry unprocessed signal from the preamp

The intriguingly named Inertia knob sets the time it takes for the ramping effect to go from slow to fast, while the Distance knob mimics the distance of the virtual microphone from the speaker, Adding a little bit of ambiance and less pronounced stereo when turned anti-clockwise.

The pedal is currently in preorder but the shipping date is just a week away on July 20, 2020

Here are the first videos of the Dawner Prince Pulse, a pedal we added to our list of Best Rotary Speaker Emulators.
