The High Tide is one of the effects of relatively new North Californian pedal; manufacturer M.D. Effects.

Brett Kingman took a look at it in the video below, more info about the pedal can be found here and under the video.

Each effect in High Tide is able to function completely independently. Want digital delay repeats with no chorus? Simply turn the Rate knob all the way left and the chorus is gone. Just looking for that bright 80’s chorus? Turn down the effect knob to turn off the delay.

CREATIVITY TIMES THREE

High Tide features three sets of uniquely programmed algorithms each featuring an original chorus sound, paired with a secondary effect. The features continually change as you switch from one of High Tide’s “Modes” to another, laying out a massive platform for sonic exploration.

NEARLY INFINITE POSSIBILITIES

The Delay and Reverb algorithms in High Tide are extremely expansive. Delay sounds with nearly a full second of repeats as well as a beautifully reflective and almost unending Reverb are attainable within High Tide. The highly versatile Tap switch allows you to change the Delay time, as well as change the Reverb decay time by tapping faster or slower.

ANALOG + DIGITAL

Pure Analog Mix and Clarity controls pair together with the complex digital programs found in High Tide, and create a combination of Analog and Digital that works beautifully and adds to the versatility of the creative textures. Turn the Clarity knob up and hear each effect processed sharper and crisper, or turn it a little lower and delve into the enhanced bass frequencies.

OPERATION:

MIX: The Mix control adjusts the master output level of both the Chorus and Effect together.

RATE: Controls the rate and intensity of the chorus sound. The range of the rate control changes for each Mode.

EFFECT: Adjusts the mix of the secondary effect for each mode. See MODES table below.

CLARITY: Adjusts the sharpness of the sound. Turning it all the way left removes some of the high frequencies.

TAP: On Mode 1 the Tap switch allows you to change the reverb time by tapping faster (for quicker time) or slower (for longer time). On Modes 2 and 3 it acts as a Tap-Tempo switch for the delay Effects.

TAP OUTPUT: Allows you to remotely tap in tempos from a separate switch through a TS 1/4” connection. Requires a Normally Open (NO) tap switch.
