The Beetronics FX OctaHive V2 is the improved version of a super high gain fuzz with chaotic leanings and a switchable octave-up manufactured by a (quite literally) buzzworthy company based in Los Angeles (via Brasil).
Inspired by the early octave-up pedals of the ’70s, and in particular the Tycobrahe Octavia, this pedal’s circuit delivers vintage tones through modern engineering.
In BUZZZ mode (octave off), it unleashes a high-gain fuzz ideal for low riffage and powerful chords, while the OCTAVE mode will deliver tones reminiscent of psychedelic sounds of the ’60s.
The three knobs (Pre, Honey and Volume) are very interactive with each other an let you fine-tune the fuzz and gain stages, delivering a wide palette of fuzzy sounds that doesn’t shy away from extreme noise, a signature feature of the company’s devices.
In V2, the two modes can be switched by holding down or double-tapping the footswitch (you can configure it according to your preference).
