On Friday, October 22 at NYU’s Kimmel Center The Deli and Delicious-Audio will sponsor a CMJ panel presented by SonicScoop and entitled “Studio Time.” This is an intensive two-part program focused on music production:

Studio Time “Part I: Mix Reconstruction” (12:30 – 2:30)

Three top mixers — Nicolas Vernhes (Dirty Projectors, Deer Hunter), Jason Goldstein (The Roots, Bilal) and Shane Stoneback (Vampire Weekend, Sleigh Bells) — will take the audience through their personal mixing process. Each mixer will discuss how they approached and ultimately mixed a song from their discography, playing pre- and post-mix examples to illustrate how they work.

Part II: Rough to Refined” (2:45 – 4:45)

Producer/artist duos will play rough demos for the audience, and discuss how their collaborations in the studio led them to the finished song. Featured producers and artists will be: Jim Keller and Franz Nicolay, Phil Palazzolo and Nicole Atkins, and Chris Zane and Seth Jabour of Les Savy Fav.

For more information about this go here. The panel will be open to all CMJ badge holders.
