drum-synths-family[1]

We all know Electro Harmonix for their popular (and growing at breakneck speed) line of guitar pedals, but the Queens, NY based manufacturer has long been flirting with synthesizers too – we had the chance to toy around with one of their old Minisynthesizer at our 2014 Brooklyn Synth Expo.

Back in the late ’70s they released a series of peculiar “pedal synths” based on monophonic analog circuits, including the Super Space Drum (optimized for percussive sounds) and the Crash Pad (optimized for electronic cymbal sounds).

The two stompboxes (on which you actually don’t want to stomp, since they have no footswitch) have been recently reissued through redesigned cases that feature a faithful recreation of the original circuits – check out the video below, it’s worth a million words.
